The American Choral Directors Association’s service-learning initiative was developed and piloted by Dr. Alicia W. Walker at the University of South Carolina. The program offers a practicum opportunity for ACDA Student Chapter members to serve in secondary choral programs. Through these experiences, young choral directors partner with veteran teachers to address the challenges of developing choral programs, and to identify the needs of underserved populations in the choral classroom. Additionally, ChorTransform is designed to facilitate mentoring relationships between collegiate student conductors and in-service choral directors.
